The benefits of The Academy have always been a mystery to me.

Has it produced anything meaningful, with the exception of McNeil?

Was it Saint Sean who did not want to blood them -giving them the experience of watching from the sidelines only?

Is there anyone who could move up to the First Team at Championship level?

Irrespective of raising the necessary finance, would a goalkeeper of Pope’s calibre really want to be playing in the Championship?

I’m not it’s a good thing to have - there will
Always be one or two who get through - let’s be honest the percentage of players who make it at top level is tiny - for everyone not just us.

Judging by the the signing of Dale Stephen’s ( a Dyche signing I’d say if they’re worse than him someone needs to be answering questions on that. Even from a Dyche perspective I don’t understand that he never used them as they’ll be fit enthusiastic and dyches number one quality to be able to run and run.

Is there anyone who could move up to the First Team at Championship level? No. As above we don’t know do we ? As they don’t get chances not even 5-10 minutes - there are goal scorers among them and we need goal scorers.( well I thought we did. ).

He can’t stay for two reasons one is he’s currently the best English goalkeeper and to stop his chances of progressing that wont happen with Burnley.

Secondly reality says we need to cash in and circumstances are now forcing that really hence he has to look elsewhere.
