Something that I have noticed, living in Switzerland, is that the British media make a crisis out of everything. They are doom and gloom merchants - like vultures, delighting in shadenfreude.

I am not suggesting that the financial position is not a problem and that the new manager will not have a rebuilding job to do.

However, I prefer to wait and see what the reality is and how ALK deal with the situation. Debt can always be rescheduled and/or refinanced. No one in the press has any knowledge of the discussions and options that are available.

This great club of ours has been around for 140 years. Even in League 1 the faithful will still be at the Turf come rain or shine.

We have to be realistic too. Yes, great kudos and money in the PL, but competing against clubs that have £200 million to spend (Chelsea) or can pay Tarks £120k per week? We can never hope to do that.

Here’s to 2022/23 where I hope we see some thrilling, attacking play from the Clarets in the true tradition of the club - not 37% possession defending all the time.

And for those criticising Pace for not cashing in on Tarks, I know that he wanted to sell. Dyche did not. Dyche won the day. So thanks to Saint Sean. How much has that cost us?
