Thank you. In a Notts sense is a new phrase to me but I already like it but best with me. 5th midtable
8th Just above drop zone
So I'm going to presume 10th must be relegated?
On to your question.
I wouldn't be happy with 8th, I didn't think we would finish 8th or below. Can it be a failure or does it have to be a big failure*
* In a Notts sense.

Dropped from 6th to 10th.
This really is hard work, and I can't make it any clearer without drawing pictures. I've explained in detail that in my opinion there is no way we should finish below half the teams in this division. Apart from us there are 22 other teams, so 22 becomes 11. Am I going to fast for you? On that basis 5th is mid-table, 8th is just above the drop zone so in a Notts sense 10th would be equivalent to a relegation season. If you want to compare us as equals with Dover Athletic, this won't make any sense to you because in a literal sense 10th obviously wouldn't mean relegation. I prefer to think we have a bit more chance than Dover Athletic.
It took a while, but I think we're getting there. So 8th is definitely above mid-table, but you wouldn't be happy with it. So you are obviously looking at what Notts can reasonably expect rather than what an average NL team can expect.
That's exactly what 'IN A NOTTS SENSE' means!
A 51% win ratio against wealdstone, Maidenhead, Barnet etc. Please do not soil the legacy of Notts greatest ever manager by claiming Burchnall was even fit to lace his boots. What do you honestly think Burchnalls win ratio would have been in the top division and championship like Jimmy was most of his time.
