Anyone know what Grimsby have spent on transfers this season?
If that's what you mean by ambition, then I agree.

We don't need to start playing hoofball or abandoning the idea of playing fast, attractive football, but we need to play in the right areas and in a way that doesn't unnecessarily expose the limitations of players at this level. If we get this right, and add two or three of big animals/beasts/enforcers to the talented players we already have, then we'll have a team that can win games more than one way.

A lot of the time when fans use the word 'ambition', or that other misleading word 'investment', they're basically talking about the club spending more than it can afford, or some rich owner spending money they'll never get back in search of success that can only ever be sustained while they keep on doing it.

Our business model should be to follow in the steps of a club like Luton Town, who had to show a lot of patience when they were stuck in the National League for a while, but eventually got themselves promoted and haven't looked back since, and they haven't spent beyond their means.
