By law of averages then we should be up there, what is it 33 years?

Oldham don't like your law of averages either.

I mean that big clubs generally don't take that long to get back up there the likes of Newcastle, West Ham get back up on the rare occasion they drop out the Premier, Aston Villa took 3 years, Leeds got back eventually after what 14 years, the only big clubs that haven't been there fairly recently now are Sheffield Wednesday, Ipswich and Derby.

Sheff Wed are now the biggest club to have been out of the top flight the longest (dropped out in 2000).

Clubs who were in the top flight during the last century but not in the 2000s........

    1997/98 BARNSLEY
    1993/94 OLDHAM ATH.
    SWINDON TOWN
    1991/92 LUTON TOWN
    NOTTS COUNTY
    1989/90 MILLWALL
    1987/88 OXFORD UTD
    1979/80 BRISTOL CITY
    1974/75 CARLISLE UTD
    1965/66 NORTHAMPTON T
    1962/63 LEYTON ORIENT
    1960/61 PRESTON NE
    1947/48 GRIMSBY TOWN
    1928/29 BURY
    1920/21 BRADFORD P.A.

Can't see too many returning in the next 25 years, Preston probably the most likely. Wouldn't be surprised if Luton fall back and this will remain their best campaign for quite some time.

I’ve been at Wembley today (Was escorting a female red in the Huddersfield end).

And despite today (which was a pretty crap game) you have to give credit to Cooper.

Yes, they had sone luck today, but they’ve put in some great performances, and from being rock bottom (how we laughed!) they’ve done amazing.

Well done to them. A shame we couldn’t do better than we have, but that’s life.

We simply need to do better.
