You know Ardley was 6th when he left, IB came in and did very poorly and we fell to 10th, before recovering to 5th
My belief is we would have finished higher with NA, and got further in the play offs
The other excuse given by owners and supporters, was the timing was to give IB the best chance to prepare for the following season, well that did not work out well as we finished 5th again

In fairness, I think it's yourself that's cherry picking. The team was generally poor and inconsistent for the majority of 2020-21 and with matches being live streamed, I watched them all so feel in a good place to comment. We may have been 6th when Ardley was sacked, but we were on a poor run of form, playing badly and heading south. I think we would more likely have not even made the playoffs as a rot had set in. The poor form took a number of games for Burchnall to turn around i.e. we got worse before we got better.

Listen to Ardley's last post match interview. He was totally exasperated and seemed to me like he was at the end of his tether and didn't know what he could do.

My question is whether it is the mentality of the players we have rather than the manager.

As Swale rightly pointed out he joins a very long depressing list. One of the big differences is he was actually snapped up by a higher division club instead on sacked. We also received compensation rather than paying it for a manager.

Just because FGR have taken a gamble on an unproved manager , does not prove that IB is any good, until he actually proves that by winning something

True they clearly see real potential, just like Notts did.

On your basis if NA loses the playoff final does that mean he's not good? Even though he's done a very good job at Solihull this season, dare I say a lot better than you, me or the vast majority on here expected?

Depends really. FGR's definition of ''winning something'' might well be staying in that division next season.
