I think you've even ben taken in by the portrayal of the US Armed Forces in films Brin to thinking that's the way it is in reality. Like in the UK, today is a holiday in the US, Memorial Day to remember everyone who has died in armed conflict. It's quite sobering to see to sights of members of the public placing US Flags on the graves of every single one of them (many thousands in some cemeteries) and attending services in their honour. No pomp and circumstance, just respect.

Like you say Brin, each to their own, I thought it was a good film, funny in places and yes of course the usual yanky back slapping you would expect to see in a movie of this nature. I thought it was a good pick me up after the crappy 2 years we have all just endured. So cheer up you miserable git
