    I couldn’t agree more, I hate Scotland.

I didn’t used to until I started working with a few Scots and became aware just how much they loathed us.

Rarely have I seen a team so outclassed as Scotland were tonight Al......they actually embarrassed themselves which made it even funnier.

Their football is from the Dark Ages, horrible to watch and players lacking in technical ability.

    Crawl back into your hole.

I worked quite a lot in Scotland many years back and never had any problems with them, in fact, they were very hospitable, working there was a pleasure. Maybe, Mick, it’s you……!

On this occasion it’s not “me” thanks all the same.

I used to support Scotland at tournaments until my late 20’s when I started working with more Scots and they made it clear just how much they wanted literally anybody to beat us English at anything.

You’re living in cloud cuckoo land if you think that Scots would ever back an English sporting side.

Maybe you could take a clue from the number of seats the SNP win in Scotland!!

I’ll be around to tuck you in shortly.

Have no particular empathy or otherwise for Scotland or Scots as don't really know any but those I met when we were on holiday up there several years ago were all welcoming and pleasant enough and really enjoyed the scenery/history. My best mate worked in and around both Glasgow and Edinburgh for several years and always said that it took them a while for the locals to accept him-but then you hear the same about Yorkshire and other places in England too.

As for the game, Scotland were poor and Ukraine outclassed them and deservedly won, a win made all the more welcoming given the current situation.

Morning Ketts - in my younger days I worked and lived in Edinburgh and they hate us!! Every time England played they cheered for the other side!

Let them have independence but then they can’t crawl back when it all goes wrong!

Even now I refuse to accept Scottish Monopoly money as do many shops!

It would appear to be mutual this hatred.
Many English no time for Scottish......

Not hatred with me, I prefer 'Intense rivalry'. Amazing how the Scots, Welsh and Irish can up their game in any sport when it comes to England. Perhaps we deserve it, but I think very long historical memories, have a lot to do with it. As Brian Moore said, they should have more ambition than just beating England

    Yes.
Tribalism still has a part to play. I like rivalry...it adds spice to a competition.
But some if not most of this stuff is just sheer dislike.
Local rivalry can be healthy. But some times....it just goes to far.....

I have a scots son in law and while I have in the past supported Scotland in tournaments, he supports whoever is playing against England. I like him well enough but I'm glad they lost.
