Ryanair lost £300m last year, admittedly it was pandemic related but still. BA and Virgin are rumoured to be on the brink. Flybe and Thomas Cook have gone bust in the last few years. Its unusual for airlines to make mega profits, if they do it is because their model is efficient.

So I guess, the low paid jobs are in part helping keeping inflation low. Now we've voted for Brexit - expect higher inflation.

Agree with all that but it’s a vicious circle. There’s a huge job shortage so individuals will choose the best working hours and pay. Working in a nice cafe on the minimum wage or working in an airport with very early starts/late finishes and people shouting at you? It’s a no brainier which one many staff would choose!

Sadly it was immigration that won the Brexit vote but many didn’t understand that all the Europeans were legal and hardworking and the Afghans/Syrians etc had nothing to do with Brexit and even now are entering the country in large numbers! Perhaps those who voted Brexit because of immigration should have had pictures drawn!
