Don't want it to happen but would / should command a high price given the timing awkwardness.

His son has just signed a professional contract with us. I am sure he would like to stick around to see him develop.

I would be surprised if blackburn wanted him. They only just missed out on play offs last season they will be wanting someone with experience who can shove em over the line. Warne seems to have sussed what is needed to get into champ but not yet what is needed to keep us there.

I think he has Roly, money!! Trouble is he won't get enough if it with us pal, will he.

Tbf Scum makes a good point about his lad just signing with us, I'd imagine he'd want to be close to him.

Imagine the worst case scenario, as Blackburn will have more of a budget to offer Warney......he takes his lad, signs Smudge, Wiles and Icky because he can probably match what other clubs are willing to offer ie Derby.

On a serious note should he decide to go then I have nothing but a massive thank you for him. He has provided one heck of an emotional rollercoaster while he's been in charge. Three promotions making him more successful than King Ronnie and Evo.

I truly would like him to stay but, he has earned the right now to talk to a bigger club and see what they have to offer. Once the word is out, if true, this may well have other chairmen looking to ask to approach him also. He deserves that big wage rise, a new challenge and a chance to better himself elsewhere if it's out there for him and his family.

I see two big positives to this move.

    (1) I win my bet with Monty/Wendun where I stated PW/PH would manage above the levels of RUFC/Shrewsbury.
    (2) We're looking for a house and I quite like Tickhill. Wonder if PW would contemplate a MM discount?

Warne deserves that kind off move.

A club that has ambition In the championship.

So he can show what he can really do

CAM, you don't get Chief in with the sale though

I think Mr Warne has earned the right to see how he fares where the funding allows him the scope to buy better quality players. However many times he gets us promoted to the Championship he will be limited to shopping in Home Bargains and Last Minute.com for players.

Why not double his wages to get him to stay?

It’s a strategy most fans come up with to retain a player
