You think that was a mistake? It seemed like a good idea many years ago.
Anyway, I have gear lust again. I fancy a G&L. G is for George Fullerton. L is for Leo Fender, the creators of the first 'electric Spanish guitar' This is going back to the late 40's. Eventually they produced the Fender Broadcaster. Gretsch has trademarked the name, so it beacame the Fender Nocaster, and eventually, in 1952, the Telecaster. The 'television' was trendy at the time.
In the 60's Fender wre bought by CBS, who turned out the biggest pile of cr*p ever to have the name Fender on the headstock.
One of the provisos of the sale was the Leo and George couldn't bash out guitars for 20 years. and when they did after 20 years, they blew the socks off of anything that Fender were bashing out.
