    True.

We are all more educated now on sports washing.

We do know that Saudi owner played a part in the murder of a journo to welcome him with open arms is another level thick for me.

6500 people have died building Qatar world cup grounds but according to FIFA its all good its on time.

They wont ever buy us so we dont have no worries on that score i'd rather have who we have or Ashley than any of them City/PSG/Newcastle.

John Askey today’s new entry, flown into odds on favourite by the looks of it.

Would be a more pragmatic choice than I was expecting, but with him and Parkinson it suggests that we’ve decided we need someone who knows the league. I don’t think Askey would necessarily be a long term choice, but knows the division, has won it previously etc while playing decent football I think, could be alright.

Somebody who's either supported or been involved with the club since at least 2018.

Yes. We know that they do recruitment via data and stats.

Can you hand on heart promise that if the lad from Gateshead had signed for a team like Chesterfield, you wouldn't be complaining that we'd missed out on just the kind of player we should be looking at while sorting out the managerial vacancy?

100%. I'd never heard of him, hadn't noticed a buzz around the mention of his name on here before he signed (which is not to say there wasn't a thread about him before he signed if somebody wants to try and make me look stupid with a link, I'm saying I hadn't noticed one) and I would have brushed it off without comment as Chesterfield signing a striker from a part time league had anybody bothered to bring it up had they got him instead.

All well and good if the owners have unearthed a gem but I don't see how him being a decent signing or not changes the fact that Shaun Derry wasn't happy with having to defer to a transfer panel in 2014/15. Perhaps he's changed his mind since he last spoke on MC and now loves the idea.

I don’t think the recruitment process is that rigid. Didn’t IB get Patterson from Sunderland because he knew the coach from there and there have been others. Ellis came in at the end of last season and was offered a new contract and he didn’t fit the find an undervalued talent and develop. I honestly believe if the coach really wants someone then the owners will approve.
