I thought the same - why leave a comfortable job unless you've got a definite offer. So if not Notts then another team. I have to say he's the most Football Radar-type appointment of all those on the list - a genuine coach rather than a manager, likely highly proficient on the training field, and someone we'd never heard of until a few weeks ago.

Absolutely no different to NA? In case you've forgotten, NA had a decent budget but got us relegated FFS.

But you don't blame him, you only blame Alan Hardy.

Does seem to have a very good reputation and apparently done a very good job there. Like everyone you just hope he’s got the personality also to lead a senior squad, there’s no reason he shouldn’t have.

I’m not saying it won’t be Tisdale (I have no info!), but I think that kind of thing is unlikely because:

Look at the owners’ statements both after sacking Ardley and when Burchnall left. It’s all about ‘profiling’ people on their style of football and whether it would suit us. You can’t get that kind of insight on someone like Tisdale because he’s not managed anyone yet, and under 23 stuff won’t be that useful because general they’ll be under instructions to play the same systems and style as the first team.

Basically, we know we’ve approached Derry and Altrincham to interview their managers, but they leaked because they weren’t interested. I expect there’s a few like that which haven’t leaked and we’re talking to, and if I had to I’d put my money on that kind of appointment.

Nah Jacob. I could easily see it being Tisdale. He certainly looks like a ''Radar'' appt. Young, coach rather than manager, someone we've never heard of. Never managed a senior side at any level, he'll fit right in!!

NA was told when he came in Elite that his budget was he could not increase the wage bill and if he wanted to sign anyone then money would have to be freed up by people leaving ( Which is why Dennis went to the Mariners). If you classify that as a decent budget no worries but I would class it as hands largely tied. And I am no big fan of NA.

Yeah, it did rather ''hobble'' NA only having 75 players to choose from.

From when he was appointed, I'm comparing NA's budget to our relegation rivals rather then the division as a whole. On that basis he had a big budget. How much was the often ridiculed Sol Campbell given to spend?
