    Not an either or, we need the players we have fit and performing,, but even if we had Bamford back fit and doing what he does best, and Gelhardt given more 1st team minutes (neither is guaranteed), we need a stronger, more resilient squad able to take the inevitable injuries and/or suspensions and cope. Nothing this window, and particularly losing turncoat Philips, would indicate we (or more accurately, the Board) know what needs to be done to make sure we're not scrabbling around at the foot of the table next season.

    The talk is we will replace Rapha with another winger (not sure why in a 4222 formation) I suddenly had a horrible thought that we may end up with a Rapha for Pepe or Rapha for Xhaka deal.

    Looking back at Rapha last year without him we would have been down by March he really did produce in some pretty crucial games like Norwich away.
