What is even more worrying is where in UK politics, regardless of political persuasion, is there a natural leader?

Furthermore, and I say this as being one right of centre, do we need a ban on public school educated folk taking on roles in the public domain?? I've only ever met a couple (was in digs with one at Uni a year or three back) and they are just not of this planet. An enquiry into their institutionalised behavioural practices wouldn't go amiss. I guess we don't value our politicians enough to make it worthwhile for competent folk to enter the "profession".

I’ve heard or seen this sentiment, or very similar many times, usually expressed by people who voted for Boris Johnson as PM.

It’s a huge shame they’ve only recently developed such high expectations of their leading politicians.
