Out of interest, is Sweden similar? We have a very favourable view of the Scandinavian countries over here.
I do spend quite some time in England (3 1/2 weeks atm btw), and have done so over the years, so I think I can make some comparisons.

We have our fair share of dodgy politicians and political scandals, but not to the same amount and proportions, I’d say. Our present (and past) PM is probably a saint compared to BJ.

Sweden being less of a society built on classes and inequality, historically, play a vi tal part I believe to the political systems and how they function (or not). Our former PM, for instance, was a former welder (and union rep, if I dare state so on here… &#128526.

But, in all honesty, things are not going in the right direction: more inequality, more extremist political parties, more tabloid media etc. Allegedly, we now have the largest amount of dollar billionaires per capita in the world…
