It's a slightly easier gig for Starmer now in that it has happened and we can see what a **** show it is turning into.

I know it's unpalatable to those who want an immediate return to the EU, but the reality of the situation is that isn't going to happen. The priority is now to try to make the best of where we are for all our sakes

In an ideal world, the demise of Johnson will result in a government that can engage sensibly and constructively with the EU, instead of seeking to break agreements that they freely entered into just a couple of years ago. I'm not hopeful though.

If you follow the #bbcqt on Twitter while it’s on you get labour fans accusing it of bias towards the tories and Tory fans accusing it of bias towards labour.

My guess is that they have the balance about right if they are upsetting both sides.

This Peter Griffin lookalike was outed as a Tory Party Activist in the audience last week in Inverness.

I’m sure Labour and fringe parties have planted the same type of people.

Imagine what QT would look like in Putin's Russia or even one broadcast in the US by Fox News .

Don't really know why the BBC gets slated for supposed bias, when both left and right claim this.
Out of all the broadcasters is the one I trust the most.
Think they are just an easy target for some.

Something very weird happened to me following the 2019 election , for reasons I still don't really know why I found myself drawn to watching documentaries about people and politics I'd always fought against .

Milton Friedman , Thatcher , Keith Joseph , I wouldn't go as far as to say I found myself agreeing with them and sometimes it was a very difficult watch but none the less if nothing else I gained more of an understanding .

The result I guess and I'd like to think I've become less tribal , more rounded perhaps .

At least I'd like to think so .

I feel the same. I’ve come to the stage after nearly 3 years of Boris Johnson that I just want a leader that is intelligent, honest and sensible no matter which party they are from.

I wouldn’t be upset to see Ben Wallace as the next PM. Ex Coldstream guard, straight talking man of integrity.

Was that the Scottish detective “there’s been a mudder”

    Could’ve sworn that was ITV.

Amen, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

I was listening to the Radio 4 evening news program last night when they interviewed a Conservative activist who firstly sang the praises of Johnson before saying that she would like Patel, Braverman or Steve Baker (who knows says that he won't stand but will back Braverman). I found myself wondering if she actually hates the British people.

    Given the venue,
I thought it was brave of Campbell to pay a gentle tribute to Thatcher when he said that she along with Blair, Brown and Major were in politics to make the UK a better place (or words to that effect).

I think that's right. It's possible to greatly dislike and resent things that those politicians did, but they were not like Johnson who is in politics for his ego and whatever he can personally gain from it.

I do wonder if decent politics are gone. I know Starmer and he is fiercely intelligent and as honest as the day is long, but he is failing to make the impact that he needs to. I saw an article about an opinion poll that said that people find him boring. Is that really so bad in a leader?

It would help if Labour could start to be clearer about their actual policies though.
