With Mitchell having two decent games and a goal, could he end up being the target man that we think we need?

I thought we looked very impressive as a 'team' today very well connected. We attacked as a team and defended as a team. Any tackles put in were far more aggressive than last season, which is a huge positive.
Some of the one touch moves were a thing of beauty and a credit to how quickly LW has got the squad on the same page. One area of concern was the passing around at the back at times, more so in the second half. It could have been down to the changing of personnel our quality of the press. That was something we were noticeably more aggressive with, I could hear Jimmy shouting squeeze squeeze in my head.
As ever after a pre season victory, I am trying not to get too carried away, but think we must have done ok as Eastcoastultra has not reared his caring negative head 😁

....'that is where you are wrong my friend ....I take the bait tho'

Can't go on friendlies but not bad against Leicester stiffs and Youth team.

Hardly Premiership opposition was it?...lets be honest.

A win is a win tho'

That's the spirit ECU 😁. Think I might have to invest in a home keeper shirt this season, looked nice and bright and complimented the sponsors colours better than the home shirt. It is the colour I would have liked for the away shirt with grey shorts.
Saddo me has just watched the game again, and if LW can get the same improvement out of Taylor and Mitchell as he seems to have done from Francis and Nemane, we could have a very strong squad. From one full half, and 30 mins, it seems like Cal has lost his petulant side. It could rear it's ugly head in competitive matches of course.

In Kairos interview he says LW attention to detail plus pressing off the ball is much better what he's been used to under previous management teams. I think LW is going to be a great manager for us (fingers crossed)

Really hope he grabs his chance with both feet if he gets a run in the team. Competition for places is looking good and LW definitely looks to be right on it.

    I hate pre-season optimism!

Ha ha this is true, it's great that however the previous season has gone you always have that feeling that this might be our year!
