If the prize money is good jockeys will take a ban for winning by over use of whip or dangerous riding of it means winning…..so the disqualification is the only deterrent they have left….although will they have the right to appeal that’s the key bit..?..perception to be seen to be doing something.?.if they do as with most stewards cases the result can take up to 2/3 months..

Also you can use a corrective whip which in some cases doesn’t count in the total of whips allowed…which is again open to interpretation…

It should have been whip at your Will or don’t whip at all…as soon as they put a limit on it they created the monster…



Thanks word I was trying to think of corrective use of the whip. Got to determine what's counted as a whipping offence. Not as simple as it looks. Then must be able to appeal at the decision.
