It's a side effect of wokeness, you might say. Of course provision needs to be made for MTF and FTM athletes in the same way as there is for special needs / differently abled athletes. (Before anyone jumps all over that I'm not suggesting cross gender issues are a disability).

But in the same way that you would not have expected a Class B1 athlete to compete against Usain Bolt, fairness cannot allow a birth male who has recently self identified as female to compete against a field of birth females.

No its bloody not about how woke anyone is - its about a group of people being rather strident and extremist about their views - whether that be abortionists, gun freaks or the fundamentalist Christians in the States or trans activists or climate change activists here.

They aren't doing it to be seen as woke - yes there are those hangers on, celebrities, media people who tag alongside a cause to be seen to be hip, cool or woke, but thats not woke ideology its ****ing people wanting attention or to be seen to be in with the latest alternative thoughts!

This is where the media and the right wing with its pointless culture wars, actually causes issue, because dumb people follow what they say and are equally proud to be seen as "anti woke".

When what is actually needed is an adult conversation and a recognition that times and conventions change and that change dto be managed in the interests of everyone.

I mean take gay rights, it was only 60 years ago this country shamefully mistreated and criminalised Alan Turing, whose contribution to the war effort was immense! I still remember the 70's when Thatcher was pointlessly trying to stop anybody below the age of 21 finding out there maybe people with different ***ual preferences to others. All the while her ministers were up to all sorts of stuff.

So lets not fall in to the trap of calling anything that is enlightened or any change in culture, behaviour as "woke".
