Get a few more minutes into a wide range of players

Work reasonably hard but, since it’s the second game in two days, don’t knock yourselves out

Above all else don’t get injured; we may be short of players when the season proper starts.

Let’s practice defending. Let them come on to you so we have to get out of difficult defensive situations

then you could probably say it went to plan.

We had 11 first team players available tonight including the goal keeper ? I assume that’s all we had who were fit enough to tournament out ?
Missing Mcart, Harding , Eaves, Fergusson, Bola, Washington, !!

Something going wrong with pre season preparation in my opinion !

I thought we were awful, Humphrey and the trialist only good thing. We have not used the time well this summer, if we do bring in 5 players they are unlikely to be match fit in 2 weeks, but more importantly the team will not have played together, I suspect a poor start and that will make it very difficult. What are these lessons we learned from previous years, they are not visible. The club were too nice to Smith and icky gave them too long and then we were dumped on, but was that really a shock. Oh and to the coaches we do have, Smith isn't here now stop the long boot everytime, it is awful to watch and even league two sides play better football than us. Our only strength is the mid three, all can play yet we bypass them.

Thing is I feel he will go with his three at the back and five across the middle, therefore he won’t be bypassing the middle three as you said.

Did show though how weak we really were last night and hoofing it up front with no Smith to take control. Kayode simply not strong enough. Can’t see Eaves either to see if he even looks owt like Smith did. Makes you wonder doesn’t it?

I won't see us till 30th this month. Better get Harding fit he's going to.have to multitask! Right or left of the back 3, left wing back as well. We must overtrain players to get this many injuries. I don't know whose played in last 2 friendly's but I'm hoping Hull & Greaves get a fair chance to show if they are good enough to have a future with us. Just because he got asked back doesn't mean he turned up, his name has never been mentioned.

If you payed attention you'd see that 7 young players got minutes last night, and 5 did the night before.

One question for those who say or think the following.... 'lessons haven't been learnt', 'wasted summer', 'never learn' etc etc.

Which club, in any division, have completed their summer business as of this moment?

And yes, I am as frustrated as most and wish we were further along with recruitment, like PW does. But the reality of transfers is never that simple, and issue free.
