I've moved on from Mike Garlick, the dearly departed Altobelli had him well sussed and no mistake. Pace is doing alright, he's trying and God loves a trier.

Yes, my opinion of Pace is improving steadily. He is making a tidy profit on last seasons recruits-long may it continue.

When Mr Pace arrived he found a Premier League club, with the best manager it's ever had, and a Cat One Academy. We no longer have any of those three, the manager has gone, we've been relegated to the Championship and our Academy has lost Cat One status. Mr Pace is indeed trying, very trying.

Harry Potts was the best manager we ever had, he won the First Division and could spot talent a million miles off.

Dyche got us relegated twice and got the boot. Pace inherited the pile of Garlick's $hit debacle and is trying to sort it.

Whether he will or not is in the lap of the footballing Gods. Fingers crossed!

Harry took over a team that had just finished 7th in D1, he moved us up 6 places. Hardly earth shattering. Dyche took over a team that had just finished 13th in the Championship, if he'd moved us up 6 places we'd never have been in the play-offs never mind two promotions.

The players of the time will tell you that Harry's team talks were rarely more complex than 'go out and enjoy yourselves lads'. Didn't matter, they were that good they didn't need Harry to do much more than pin the team sheet up.

Despite the jokes, the one-liners and the gravelly voice, my opinion of Dyche is diminishing rapidly in a very negative manner.

He had no idea how to deploy substitutes, he was not the sharpest at being tactically shrewd, he had no idea how to change a game and in retrospect I'm glad he has gone.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion mon ami, I begin worry when your opinion concurs with mine. I have no such worries this morning. God is in his heaven and all's well with the world. Of course all is not well with the world, but you know what I mean.

Just to delve into this one a little deeper BT, are you saying.

    a) he NEVER knew how to deploy substitutes or,

    b) that he did know when we were blowing teams away in the Championship and qualifying for Europe, but then mysteriously forgot what he once knew or,

    c) that in his last few seasons his substitutes were of such poor quality, it didn't matter whether he sent them onto the field of play, or outside the ground selling programmes.

I think an in-depth analysis is called for.

Before your negativity clouds your judgement entirely BT, have a delve into your Lefty bible, it's worth reading for once,
