Spain were better than I expected though we gave them acres of space on their left wing whereas they subdued our wingers. Great winning goal though.

Two Teutonic nations going head to head, I don't suppose there were any Jewesses playing either?

I am sure if there were any better players qualified to play for England Women Sarina Wotsit, as someone earlier so endearingly dubbed her, would have picked them. She seems to have mastered (or should that be mistressed?) the art of football management.

This is the problem Outwood, she is undoubtedly picking the best players, picking the team on merit, but there are no Black girls good enough to be picked. Why not, what's holding them back, is it racism, is it cultural, is it something else ? Where are all the black girls ?

Russo is a very lucky girl, it came as chased the rebound from a shocking missed sitter. It was pure Wout Weghorst as she shot straight at the keeper when it seemed easier to score. But Alessia got onto the rebound and became a national hero as she scored with a flooky back-heel. Poor Wout never got a chance from a rebound and became Public Enemy No 1 in Burnley. Such are the vagaries of a footballer's life.
