Sunak is more popular than Truss with Labour voters, so in theory he would more likely be the choice between the two to win the next General Election - and for that reason I'd vote for him as a Tory member. That would be my thinking process anyway.

I also think Truss's financials make Corbyn's sound solid. Sunak would also be the smarter choice economically, despite his woeful record as chancellor.

And I heard someone say this on the radio - there is something extremely unauthentic about Truss. She was previously a Lib Dem, then a Remainer. Now she is a hard right Brexiteer. She quite happily dispatches with any of her political principles providing it advances her career - as she is doing right now.

Yes but Sunak is tainted and like Johnson lies, broke the rules and manipulating the financial system to benefit his family!

If you were in food or fuel poverty you certainly would choose Truss over Sunak as a gamble as clearly Sunak cares zero for the have nots but loves his rich chums!

Not a fan of Truss but would rather have Livermore as the PM than Sunak!

Hateful man! That said no time for any of them and does need a new party!

There is a reason her team won't let her near Andrew Neil. Because she is a disaster waiting to happen. Just go and take a look at some of her previous interviews.

If this is really the best option we have as PM, then we are in trouble as a country. Its absolutely desperate.

Your last sentence genuinely made me grimace. A horrific thought.
No politician with any nous should go anywhere near Andrew Neil because he can take anyone apart, he’s the finest political journalist of my lifetime, I miss his Thursday night TV show.

I do agree that Sunak would appeal more to Labour voters but Truss is more likely to get the Tory vote out of their front doors at the next General Election.

I watched Starmer and his big announcements the other day and at the end of it I still hadn’t got a clue what he stands for or what he stands for.

This nasal Nomark is the blandest and most uninspiring of leaders.

Not fit to lick even Neil Kinnock’s boots.

It might surprise you to read this, but I do agree with you re Starmer to a large extent.

He is so eager for votes, he wants to appeal to everyone and in doing so, he doesn't offer a particular position - the rail strikes being a great example.

I would rather he be PM than any in the Tory party purely because I think he at least has a little honesty and integrity. But his Brexit position and the influence the far left of the party still has, means I can't see me voting Labour for a very long time.

Would question the honesty! We all know he got away with beergate due to the Police so some would say he’s a complete hypocrite!

Nothing new or original comes out of his mouth and can understand why he sat behind a desk at the CPS which the Police feel hampers their convictions!

Beergate was a Daily Mail campaign to get Starmer investigated and to question his integrity. They ran 12 front page headlines on it, at a time when nobody knew how low Boris Johnson could debase public standards.

Its clear this smear campaign is working though. Its only going to get worse.

    Scumbag newspaper.

If the police said there was 'no case to answer', then how would that make him a hypocrite?

To be honest 123, I don't know who to believe about what any more. What I do believe is that many of us who have been on different sides of the divide want the same thing, a leader and party with integrity, the ability to do their various jobs and to give the electorate pride in those that govern us. At this moment in time, I don't feel that any of the present parties have these qualities and few of the individuals. A sad indictment of the state of our politics.

That’s how I feel and don’t vote! Sunak is the worst option possible! Yes the c unt is smart! Smart at increasing his and the Non Doms bank balance as the first priority! Smarmy, slimy t wat who broke lock down rules too and the Non Dom one of the last to cease her millions of financial interests in Hitler 2 land!

Starmer - ha ha! Labour will never learn with the far left to be considered seriously!

    We are all doomed!

Sunak has agreed to an interview with Andrew Neil apparently.

That’ll be like watching the ten year old in the sea in Jaws 1 with his mum anxiously looking on whilst the water turns red.

    I can’t wait.

That's a bit like when Holmleigh Chris gets a whiff of optimism on here, he pops up out of nowhere.

Holmleigh Chris and the shark from Jaws have never been seen in the same room together either, something fishy about that.
