    Predictions - 30 Jul

Sadly we will be without Lifelongrover this time. We will miss him, and I'm sure all our thoughts are with his family as we start a new season.

    AFC Wimbledon 1 Gillingham 0
    Bradford 1 DONCASTER 2
    Carlisle 0 Crawley 1
    Harrogate 0 Swindon 2
    Leyton Orient 2 Grimsby 0
    Northampton 2 Colchester 1
    Rochdale 0 Crewe 2
    Salford 1 Mansfield 1
    Stockport 1 Barrow 1
    Sutton 2 Newport 1
    Tranmere 2 Stevenage 0
Walsall 1 Hartlepool 1 (Bonus Game)

Any newcomers would be very welcome to join us. No need to register for our group - you just need a Footymad logon id. Then post your own predictions before the start time of the first match.

Hi Waldron - welcome back... Absolutely no idea where these teams are at, other than Rovers (vaguely), with all their recent signings that seem to have performed pretty well in pre-season friendlies. Let's see if they can carry on the good form in the league...

    AFC Wimbledon 2 Gillingham 1
    Bradford 2 DONCASTER 1
    Carlisle 1 Crawley 0
    Harrogate 2 Swindon 1
    Leyton Orient 1 Grimsby 2
    Northampton 2 Colchester 1
    Rochdale 0 Crewe 1
    Salford 1 Mansfield 1
    Stockport 2 Barrow 1
    Sutton 2 Newport 1
    Tranmere 2 Stevenage 1
Walsall 2 Hartlepool 1 (Bonus Game)

@scarjo. On paper they seem very good signings. Just need to see how they perform as a team. Certainly feel more optimistic than at the end of last season.

It's sad to not have Lifelong joining us for another year.
Ask me after 6 games if McSheffrey has done a good enough job. New season, new league, hard to judge if we are any good, but failing to go straight back up will be bad news for Rovers.

    AFC Wimbledon 1 Gillingham 1
    Bradford 2 DONCASTER 1
    Carlisle 1 Crawley 1
    Harrogate 1 Swindon 2
    Leyton Orient 2 Grimsby 0
    Northampton 3 Colchester 0
    Rochdale 2 Crewe 1
    Salford 2 Mansfield 1
    Stockport 2 Barrow 0
    Sutton 1 Newport 1
    Tranmere 2 Stevenage 1
Walsall 2 Hartlepool 1 (Bonus Game)

Big crowd to start the season. Down to ten men from half-time due to futile time-wasting tactics. Can't complain with the result, though it sounds like 90% of the match was spent in Rovers' 6-yard box. Alarm bells ringing. MadIrish is late for tea once again...

Yes. Madirish missed the first match last season too. Shame about the red card incident. Totally unnecessary.

New league and new teams, so it made it hard to know what to expect. We have been so poor over the last 18 months I did not expect much from this season.

Bradford are expected to be near the top and IMO made a lot of good early signings. So to get a 0-0 away result with only 10 men for half the game showed that Rovers have turned a significant corner and have regained some passion, ambition and desire. If we can only keep it up I think we have every chance of reaching the playoffs.

Tomlin has cost us 2 points already. He is 33 years old so what was he thinking to get 2 yellows in the first game? He should know better. We also picked up 3 other yellows in that game, so McSheffrey needs to stop that or we will be missing players due to suspensions, and we can't keep dropping points if we want a top 6 slot.

Come on, Mad, we need your input. We were a small group even with Lifelong (sad).
