Mind that time when Sir Alex was going to get the boot from Man U in his first season there ? Didn't start well .
I, too, think that Duk looks very unfit and I also saw that from the video footage online. I’m not convinced either that he looks like a footballer. Polvara looked reasonable at times against Celtic but was arguably at fault for both goals. He seemed scared when he got the ball, always going for an easy pass but he had given the ball away cheaply on a few occasions early on in the game. We really need to get points on the board in these next few games to give the fans some encouragement and to build team confidence if nothing else. No more false dawns, please!
There is every chance that JG and a lot of his signings turn out to be failures, but you don't need to bang on about it on every f*cking post and I'm referring to RJ here.
At Parkhead for the first league game of the season with a team of players who for most have never experienced playing in a game in a stadium of that size against the current league champions who have a lot of quality in their team and a lot of strength in their squad. No way were we getting anything from that game.
Our season starts in ernest this coming Saturday.
Oh, come on TDD min, sensible, far too sensible.
We started our league campaign last Sunday…it was a inept performance. I don’t expect us to win every game but I expect us to have a right go and have a fearless attitude in matches. We stood off Celtic and let them play. We gave them the opportunity to beat us far too easily and that is what doesn’t sit well with me. Another bit of bad management from Goodwin. Trust me when I say I want him to do well….unfortunately it is anything but as Aberdeen manager so far.
RJ, that timmy team that kicked off on Sunday was same as finished last season.
Ok we were not great, but to be up against what was the best team in league and had full preseason together was not best game to start with.
Rome was not built in a day.
Sorry, not having that. That's the defeatest attitude that has set our club back years/decades. Plenty other teams go to Parkhead and play, they pass the ball well and have a go, and yes, sometimes they even win, and I'm referring to the smaller clubs in the league here. Not our Dons. Beat before a ball is kicked. Willie Miller had it right on Sportsound when he said it seemed like a lot of the time as "same old"....whereas over on Red Tv, to say R. MacLean was overstating the positives is putting it mildly, imho. I got up on Sunday feeling hopeful that just maybe this new team would click superbly and we could head up the road with at least(!!) a point. It's sport, it happens!! I certainly didnt get up starin at ma naval, shakin ma heid lamenting the fact that we´re playing in the champions big bad stadium and it was already a lost cause. Sadly however by the end it was just a feeling of deflation that yet again we went to Glasgow and didnt lay a glove on them.
