I cannot believe some fans,if we take the knee I’m right behind if we stop and do as the premiership are doing I’m right behind them. I will never condemn it as the black people still need our support

Many black players refuse to take the knee! Supporters go to football matches to watch sport and not to kneel due to some violent crack head in another country! Nobody takes the knee for Lee Rigby who was butchered and beheaded. Shame this turd was not executed!

Many black supporters cringe at taking the knee too ! Presume you were’t at Boro - lovely black guy sitting near us and he was embarrassed at our team taking the knee whilst Boro didn’t!

Other things need to be done to kick racism out of football but not this pathetic ritual which takes the message backwards!

Did you watch the girls Euros? No drunks - no racists - no thugs - no stench of urine - no bad language. Get the picture!! Families loved it because it was family orientated!

West Brom should be more worried with the absolute thugs who go to the away games - week in week out! At Boro a blue smoke bomb was lobbed on the pitch near the players delaying the game and burnt a blue hole in the turf! Every week it happens and taking the knee bollox seems priority! I would love the first West Brom player to have the balls and be the odd man out and not take the knee because he’s individual!

What next a ritual for gays or non gender who are persecuted and even more abused in places like Qatar than being black?

Agree with a lot of that!

Taking the knee, like so many things, probably began with good intentions but it's become a bit of a joke now and feels like an empty gesture forced upon people who are mostly too frightened to criticise it for fear of being called out by the wokies. Very similar to the seemingly non stop "rainbow" displays that everyone and his dog is falling over themselves to show they support.

Both racism and homophobia/anti LGBT are sadly still issues and need to be addressed but this is primarily through education and debate not gestures that have become empty ones. Taking the knee won't stop the racist keyboard warriors or others so another tact is needed.
