What about looking tall in our own box? Wrestling with big centre-backs in the centre circle and not winning free kicks? And the most important, NOT getting into any scoring positions because that gives the game away doesn't it? And tells the opposition what you're trying to do, much better to keep that under wraps for 90mins.

This Langstaff guy is getting it all wrong.

I had to smile when after 90 mins of praising Langstaff's movement and finishing, Stallard said in his summing up that if we could get a player like Wootton back it would strengthen us.

I don’t think I've ever seen a player whose reputation among commentators and pundits (and most fans) was so detached from reality.

Plenty of us give a ****. Hearing they had lost on the way home made a good day that bit better.

Even though it was a functional rather than stylish performance from us, the result was never in doubt. These are the sort of games where 3 points is a must. Boreham Wood next week will be tougher, and should tell us a bit more.

Funny isn't it? At the start i liked Wootton, by the end i couldn't wait to see the back of him. Massively overrated and it seems Stockport fans are sick of him already. I wouldn't be surprised too see him at Solihull or Wrexham by the end of the season.

But not all fans. Wootton was quality at our level and will prove to be in LG 2. If we’re offered him back on loan with Langstaff, Scott, Ruben, Austin and Palmer in the side we’ll do well this year and Wrexham moneybags, with a s**t manager, will struggle to finish above us……. IMO

PS great win today but what a stroll it was. Tougher tests to come, but if our best player is on the bench for the first 75 and we still stroll it we have reason to be confident.

Yeah, I heard Stall say that and shuddered at the thought!
It's as if our fans have never seen McCulloch, McParland, McSwegan, Johnson, Hughes etc. Stallard himself.
Wootton was a NL defenders dream - they loved playing against him. It's slippery, mobile, crafty players like Langstaff that give them nightmares.
