    o/t the Convent

Sadden to see the former Convent building being destroyed by fire in the early ours of this morning. Such an iconic building in Dumfries.
I’m sure it is owned by Queens Chairman Billy Hewitson.

Yes Mr Hewitson was in the local papers a couple of months ago pointing out the damage vandals were doing to the building.

Why didn't he do something with it, he owns a building business

Would imagine it would be in his plans but takes an age to get planning permission for changes to anything as old as that.

Are you talking about Palmy or the Convent ? 😉😂

Owner Mr Hewitson on Border TV News this week revealed that despite the fire being only 2 weeks ago the vandals have been back causing more damage at the Convent. Also they have now broke windows at the Pavilion in Dock Park just days after the park was awarded Green Flag status.

Maybe if the Police could tare themselves away from the A75 for two minutes they might be able to catch some of these vandals.

It's embarrassing these incidents are happening under a mile away from the main HQ.

Pretty sure that'll be traffic police on the A75. Clues right there in the name.

And to be fair to them again, I'm not convinced you can see the convent from the HQ building.

Is this not a football chat group?
