Ive gotten home, ive had a read through and now ive take a deep breath!

Im not gonna write the season off on the back of todays result, and im not gonna panic over our position in the league after the next few games, but that tonight was fecking woeful! I actually did think we could escape with a narrow defeat, but all that disappeared when Tony Watt looked like he wanted to be elsewhere, Behich showed absolutely no match sharpness or situational awareness and Alkmar looked like a point was about to be proved!

Really disappointed with Watt, and i fully blame him for their opening goal as it came from him loosing the ball way too easily while not putting in any effort to keep the ball, and thats the way his game played out! The 3rd, im not blaming the keeper fully on that as i have to question who was marking their no9? I saw Edwards block someone off as the keeper went up for it with the gap he left being filled by the scorer!

After that it was game over!

I have to say it must be a bad day at work when i think that Ian Harkes is considered the best player on the park.

Like others ive read tonight, im looking past the next 2 games and hope we can get the team properly gelled and are able to kick on from then!

I am of the vintage when I expected utd to beat anyone, & I mean anyone, we played. But im not daft. These days are gone, never to be repeated. But what should we accept & how do we achieve it? Us,Aberdeen,Hearts,Hibs & other clubs have spent millions, hired dozens of managers, iverpaid for players & all for what? Mostly for nothing. Money down the drain & a never ending quest for glory rewarded with mediocrity. Our owners have spent, the fans support loyally & yet again the ones that matter on the pitch are found wanting yet again. So called 'lesser' clubs that we & the other 'bigger' clubs struggle to overcome show more grit & heart on a weekly basis than most of the over paid underachievers that we fill our teams with over the last 10 years or more. Totally scunnered with with the way football is nowadays

That was a freak result but I think that most Scottish teams except the usual two would have struggled against that team I’m sad to say.

Still trying to make sense of any of that last night. .

So far the keeper poses more questions than answers and defensively we were vey poor.

Including pre season we have looked uncomfortable playing 4 at the back. This was not a game to take any gambles but that we did giving the left back his debut and it massively back fired.

Our midfield were also posted missing last night with little or no link up play with fletcher up top.

That’s said although last night was a sore one to take, we move on. The game came a few months to early for this squad. This is a team in transition. Glaring mistakes have been made, but these mistakes can and will be rectified.

For the mutton sh aggers that came out the wood work last night. Remember what cup you were having your pre season in. Stay in your lane boys this is big boys football being discussed on here.

Woke up this morning hoping last night's debacle was just a bad dream but no. So decided to look again as to whether we were unlucky - no, simply outclassed - yes, or just a bunch of disorganised frauds who totally let the club and fans down - harsh but probably true. Of to work shortly to run the gauntlet of jibes from Saints fans because my earlier thoughts of throwing a sickie would just play into their hands. That performance last night was an f'n disgrace that would have got a manager the sack were he not so short a time in the job. Disgusted!😡

Watched on telly box last night and given a football lesson. I don’t know much about the AZ players but appeared to be hungrier and younger overall. Not blaming anyone in particular but despite experience maybe the 30+ players are not the answer, whilst I accept youngsters will be a less experienced we have some that can play football but not given much of a chance for fear of embarrassment like yesterday.

The bottom line for me is that the SFA Largs system is broken and no longer fit for purpose, even if UEFA licenced. There is stagnation there and if I was a young coach I’d be looking abroad to learn, possibly Holland. Cathro as a manager will be thrown back at me, but he is a respected coach in better leagues than ours. SFA ARE THE ROOT CAUSE

I get what you are saying but AZ were matched if not bettered at Tannadice last week. I switched the game off after the 6th went in just after half time so I can't comment on that but 5 goals in 15 minutes done for us and that was down to bad/lazy defending, good finishing and all round bad luck and even the commentary team couldn't believe our capitulation after a good initial 20 minutes.

Our squad are more than capable to have another good season and finish top 6 so we need to get behind them starting at Hearts on Sunday.

Never felt so let down & dejected after a football game in my whole life. What an utter embarrassment. Completely ruined what was a great few days.

Sunday is about getting to Monday & starting the season again, as I fear another pumping is on the cards.
