And Tony Watt has 1 goal since signing in January. It's gonna be a long season

I wasn't greatly excited by Fletcher signing, felt it was big wages to spend on someone for two years at his age, and he has never been prolific. But he showed enough against Killie and Alkmaar at home, when won some great flick ons, that he could do a job, problem is he needs bodies up supporting him to get the full benefit. Watt should be coming in off the wing and getting into the box to support him, but I just think he struggles to get there with his pace.

I honestly don't know what Tony Watt brings to the table? Not pacy enough to be a winger, not a natural goalscorer to be a centre forward and little or very little defensive abilities to be a left midfielder. He's scored 1 goal for us and provided very little in assists that I can recall and his main attribute that I've noticed is his ability to win us free kicks. I don't trust Niskanen in that position either so maybe we are stuck with Watt unless Middleton can give us a shift in that position.

I would rather we had Nicky Clark up front. Despite his critics he has more goals than anyone else over the last 2 seasons

I'd still bet on him scoring more than Tony Watt or Steven Fletcher tbh

I agree ADS, played in the right position i.e. penalty box in and around, he is pretty good. Not as a number ten or any such like playmaker. Out and out striker getting on the end of hopefully Fletcher knocking down to him.

Absolutely mate, hopefully we get to find out if they can form a partnership. Either that or we desperately need to bring a goalscorer in pronto

It's really quite weird but the modern game involves playing just one striker, or none at all (the false 9). Playing 2 strikers together and giving them time to form a partnership seems to have gone the way of the dodo.

Actually (tin hat on) I really dont see the reasons for the great cresendos for McGrath and Sibbald yet. Neither has shone, midfield is where we desperately lack strength, fight and guile. Neither brings this. So are left with Harkes and Levitt (he can work alone)

Now we have once again discovered the ability to simply pump it up to a big boy. It should be an option not THE only option.
