And therein lies the problems with some folks perception. The days of regularly visiting Old Trafford (did we ever?? Does 3 years in a row count) are decades, a generation ago, it's just not comparable IMO.

If you compare everything back to the golden era of late 70s early 80s then the past 40 years must be absolutely miserable , long before we dropped out the football league.

If on the other hand it had been said that how far we have fallen because it wasn't too long ago that a trip to Swindon, Bradford or Stoke was viewed as a tough place to go, I fully get it.

All of that doesn't mean that we have to accept the current situation that we are in. It would appear to some that it is acceptable to see us losing to the likes of Dover, Woking, Aldershot and Eastleigh, as these are tough places to go to..
