Remember Portsmouth beating us in the FA Cup semi final with a team of players they couldn't afford and a hand ball goal? They paid the price later but that was no consolation for us, just salt in the wounds.
As you know I fell out of love with the game years ago. Play acting, players try get others sent off, lack of characters left in the game, teams trying to stop others playing instead of trying to win, teams full of midfielders and no wingers and one striker (if you're lucky).
My favourite players to watch were wingers and centre forwards, not just ours but our opponents as well.
Even working class fans, the pulse of the club can't afford to go there days. I can afford to go but choose not to. It's a sad state of affairs for someone who used to be fanatically Albion that I sometimes don't even bother going to the pub to watch them.
