From what I have read it is "Welcome to the Third Division" time.

I don't know the good and bad teams in this division properly yet after only five games but I would suggest Cheltenham and Bristol Rovers are likely to be strugglers and the hype from some after beating them was way over the top.

Wycombe under Gareth Ainsworth have the players and organisation to do well in this league and apparently we were a long way second best to them.

That tells where we are at the moment.

Collins still thinks we are playing the Ismael system with the defensive line up near the heyf way line and simply hoofing it back to the opposition heyf. He is still playing sweeper outside his penalty area but the defence are now getting caught. I think managers as shrewd as Ainsworth have spotted this and told their lads to have a long punt over his head when they can.

I anticipate more goals like this if Collins is positioned so far out of his goal.

Whats worrying is that looked like our 'best' possible starting line up, and they had lost 3 games in a row before today.
Sometimes you get freak results like this though, and Im now trying to dismiss it and move on.
I hope Duff is furious with them, and will be wanting a better reaction from them in the upcoming games.

It's very true that you learn more about your players in games like today than you do against such poor opponents as Bristol Rovers were .

The one thing that struck me in that second half especially was the unwillingness to take responsibility .

Our captain's passing the buck didn't escape me .

Twice in that second half to dig himself out of the shyte he chose to give it to Jordan Williams and place him under pressure , that's not taking responsibility as a player never mind a captain .

Jordan was having a poor game , it happens but at least he doesn't hide I'll say that .

Styles simply didn't want to know once we went a goal down and was rightly subbed and if my name was Michael Duff he wouldn't start another game for me but I suspect the pressure from above will dictate otherwise to try and sell him on .

Duff may also want to reflect on his subs today too , Connell was the only one really with the quality on the ball to pick a pass and create anything , I was amazed he took him off .

As Roma alluded to Aitchison was causing the Wycombe defence all kinds of problems with his movement and Cole should have made way for Norwood .

Styles as I said deserved to come off I'll give Duff that one .

Absolutely crying out for reinforcements to that squad but I suspect unless Helik and Styles leave none will be forthcoming .

It wasn't a freak result acido , Wycombe had better players and were better coached and organised .

don't forget also that wiccum were without 3 of their so called better player's today Vokes + 2 other's? , we were well beaten today , 3 great finishes from them and it could have been double that scoreline , nice to see Dave Regis playing for wiccum today, although he only hit the bar !!!! Unbelievable Jeff , any news on who was throwing the tennis balls on to the pitch ? Seemed like what few were thrown came from all 4 stands ?

It was a freak result in the fact that we should have been full of confidence and they had just lost 3 in a row, and they had never won here before.
Who in their right mind would have predicted or bet on this result. 😕

They can also make a couple of quality Lg One signings like Mawson & Scowen, while we're stuck with players like Kitching, Cole, & Iseka etc.
And yet some fans still worship the ground Conway walks on.

We set off full of confidence , Cundy brought a fine save with a header destined for the top bins following a Benson free kick and there was some decent passing and movement early on .

The difference was Wycombe were made of sterner stuff than Bristol Rovers and wouldn't buckle and got a foothold in the game , once they went in front we basically disintegrated which clearly shows the confidence is extremely brittle .

My biggest fears about today's game proved to be correct which is why personally it wasn't a freak result to me .

Anybody who knows Gareth Ainsworth and his Wycombe side could see this result was likely given the start to the season they've had .

They are tough and resilient and Ainsworth was always going to get a positive reaction from his players .
