So far 2 managers have found some kind of issue with Vinny. We don't know what goes on behind the scenes but I do trust IB & LW's judgement as they have seen the squad day in, day out.

FWIW, I thought Vincent was ok, nothing spectacular and not sure why all the disappointment in him going out on loan.

Palmer is reliable, but Ed Francis is inconsistent and Jim O'Brien - while he'll always give you everything - is well into the veteran stage of his career.

I don't really understand the reluctance to play Frank Vincent. I think he gives energy to the team when he plays, a bit like Alan Judge used to do. He's not the kind of player to fill the obvious void we have for a really solid defensive ball-winner who'll help us grind out results away from home, but he's an enthusiastic livewire with the ability to get forward and pose an attacking threat. I can only hope that incoming transfer moves in the next week or so will reveal why we've apparently used him to make space in the squad/budget.
This. Vincent might give the ball away sometimes but he has energy, gets up and down the pitch and tries to make things happen. Yet another close season looks like passing without getting a bloody decent, put your foot in, box to box ******* to play against. I don't know what the effing problem is with this at Notts and sick of it. Not even on loan. Last decent one was Yates for 6 months. Last one who could tackle and put himself about but not great on the ball was Rose. Apart from that we're going back to Bishop and Ravenhill and that was 10+ years ago. Sick of Notts over this issue. Are we going to have Francis and JOB doing it all season? Absolute joke if we don't get this sorted soon.

Bleddy right, every fan can see the problem has been there for at least 3 seasons.

Yes, it was very difficult to predict that someone who hadn't featured much last season nor this pre-season may be leaving. Got any more info? Perhaps that Ruben might leave?

Name names or just keep quiet? If they're publicly there, it's hardly top secret is it, especially as they could watch on TV
