More information is now emerging after reports came through this morning that the daughter of a close aide to Vladimir Putin had died in a car explosion on the outskirts of Moscow.

Darya Dugina, who was the daughter of prominent ultra-nationalist Russian ideologue Alexander Dugin, was killed after a suspected explosive device detonated on the Toyota Land Cruiser she was travelling in, investigators from the Moscow region said in a statement.

I'd be interested to know who is behind this. Two possibilities immediately spring to mind. Number one is Ukraine. Number two is Putin, keeping a potential rival in check while boosting anti Ukrainian sentiment. I wouldn't put possibility number two past him.
