I'm sure I mentioned yonks ago that Edwards was not captain material. Charlie was the obvious choice.

In saying that, they both seem to be (ahem) distracted.

Captains lead by example... and we don't have one, in the slightest.

But there is plenty in the stands who would sweat blood to wear a shirt and the sort of commitment needed is massively lacking.......

The dressing room has divorced the manager, but even those lost souls in the Dressing room dont have a leader.

I’m desperately trying to think who we could play defensive midfield, just to screen the defence and link the midfield. Mulgrew seems best bet but asking a lot at his age to do 90 mins.

Liam smith has a bit of mobility, but don’t see him sitting, Sheep would gives us a bit of steel but height and football ability to retain possession would be a worry, Moore did well against rangers last season but don’t know enough about him to really call that one and not sure Ross is kind of manager to be brave with youngsters anyway.

Sibbald not really a defensive mid but holds his position and closest to what we have to someone who can win and retain possession.

Not great really. I’m never one to read too much into pre season games but maybe signs were there or should have been flagging in managers head.

We need to ****ing sign a DM it's that simple, probably 2 to be completely honest. If the manager can't see that then he is not going to last much longer.

Two defensive midfielders. Oleksandr Noyok and Filip Mrzljak. Ukrainian & Croatian. Maybe out of our pay scale though.

Manager came in late, players came in late, hardly any competitive preseason (wasted week in 80° Spanish heat).
There's definitely a bit of elitism around which didn't bode well and has bit us on the ar5e.
The academy is failing if it can't produce a decent CDM and striker.
Ross had made mistakes and needs to wise up pronto though.

Tbf, we were ahead and in control before the second booking for Harkes, definitely think we were going on to win that, we followed it up with the AZ home performance

Kinda crazy how its gone since, even given for the dodgy goalie situation and not playing a cdm
