That way you have both Scott and Langstaff as central strikers which I believe is how they operated so sucessfully together at Gateshhead? Both strikers could then keep the defenders busy giving Ruben space to link up with the midfield and then go and have a pop at goal himself whilst also feeding the two front men.

    Austin Palmer Francis

    This looks good to me.

If Scott did play behind Langstaff at Gateshead as someone posted then it could be tweaked to 4-3-2-1. Alot of teams higher up the pyramid adopt this formation compared to the classic two up top. It means if you are playing one up top they are less isolated because of the two CAMs operating behind and providing that link from midfield. Plus they can pair up or even double up with the front man when in the final third to make a front two or three. There is flexibility in there.

Langstaff played wide right for Gateshead, and not as a conventional front pair with Scott.

I think you have to take into consideration that we are playing two games in 72 hours, when picking the team for Halifax. I doubt at this stage if Scott could do two nineties in such a short space of time, for one.

You’d also hope there might be some movement on the midfield front this week given the lack of options in there (and with Vincent now out of the picture).

Bajrami definitely deserves a starting place on Saturday, but as Baldwin is LW’s “signing,” presumably he’s always going to be favoured when fit.

nw6pie, manager signs player because he knows and rates him, then plays him in the team shock, horror.

Better than the owners signing them then

Yeah, I found this odd too.
That goal of his against Maidenhead must have been the highlight of his entire career and put his confidence on a high. So what do we do with this newly confident player? Drop him.

It reminds me of IB's handling of Eli, who was having the best playing and scoring run of his time with Notts when he was duly dropped and never seen again really.

I actually think Taylor is one in our squad who can play wing-back (if we really have to go on with a formation that we're we not equipped to play). A good sign of that is how often a player gets deep into opposition territory with the ball or to receive the ball - 25 yards out to level with the penalty area right to the byline. A defender like Chicksen swinging crosses in from 30 yards out and more is never going to trouble the opposition. You have to get in behind them like Richo did, Miller did. Taylor's a better bet for that.

I wouldn't want you to miss Solihull, but it's actually 2 games in 48 hours.

Or 50 hours if you go from the first game kicking off to the second game ending.
