I'd forecast the same if we carry on playing like we have in the first few games and if we don't strengthen the midfield, but we have to remember that Luke Williams has only been in charge for four games. He can justifiably claim to be still learning about his players, and I would imagine he is still in the process of deciding how to take the best aspects of what was left by IB and convert it into something more successful in terms of formation, tactical approach and new signings.
In the immediate aftermath of the Gateshead and Chesterfield games I was very frustrated that we were displaying the same weaknesses as last season in terms of playing in the wrong areas and weakness in midfield, but standing back and looking at the bigger picture it probably is asking too much of the new Head Coach to identify and solve all of these issues so soon. The big positive so far is that we are still unbeaten, so if we can carry on in that vein while Luke Williams makes 'adjustments', then that's not too bad. The concern will come a month or two down the line if these issues haven't been addressed and we're still making the same mistakes and still showing a soft centre, but let's hope that's not the case. Generally speaking it isn't the early frontrunners who win titles anyway.
If anyone thinks that LW does not know this club or it's supporters and is not in touch with them then they should listen to this. It is an excellent interview. He obviously gets it and I'd like to think it will have a positive effect in building the relationship between supporters, manager, players and supporters and supporters and club.
This also seems like a LW honest and straight talking interview and this is what I would much prefer to hear him telling it how he sees it. The interview after the Gateshead game just didn't seem right.
