Wigan 1 Burnley 1. This was also the score when I visited the then brand new JJB Stadium in November 1999. Andy Payton opened the scoring for the Clarets. A rather better memory is our last league meeting with Wigan in April 2014 when first half goals from Barnes and Kightly secured promotion to the Premier League. The first goal with Danny Ings hooking the ball on for Dean Marley to put in the perfect cross remains one of my favourite Turf Moor moments.
