Thread: Birmingham City Post Match Thoughts

  1. #21
Outstanding performance,Cuffy looked much better without Wes taking up his space, thought Chio might get booked for going over too many times, but Brum were sh*t scared of him, pity Dan missed the pen,but we never really looked in danger, that really is saying something for this league.

I think the injury to Humphreys might just be a little blessing in disguise because I think McCart will slot in on the left side of the back 3 and offer a better balance.

Nothing against Humphreys. Love the kid and he is definitely a ball playing defender but I do think the position he is playing certainly isn't his favourite and he has been caught out once or twice trying to get possession onto his right foot.

Will still be a big player for us.

Thanks for all the comments from people who went.
    I'm feeling much better now.
Only following on thread and final score, with a bit of SmallHeathAllliance match thread thrown in I was panicking in a bitvwhen it seemed we weren't turning our seeming dominance into goals.
    Particularly after the penalty miss.
But my word what an encouragingly positive start to the season.
Obviously barely got a mention in round up on final score.
"Our friend Paul Ince's Reading" got plenty of praise.
Mmmm I wonder how we'd do against such a good team????? Oh hang on.

Anyway, early days yet and some tough games coming up, but when aren't there in the championship?
It does feel different so far this season, and long may that continue

Why did Rathbone get a yellow? Did I miss something?

    Lot better play from Cuffy
Wood definitely motm which I gave him in first half
Viktor excellent and passing ball instead of goal kicks was good to see

Not best game from Ogbene or Barlaser imo
There’s a time to take an early free kick but when Cuffy is still down maybe that wasn’t the best time especially when it resulted to Humphreys getting injured

    5th in championship

    Get innnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Hall was my MoM. So solid in defence and excellent coming forward - if his long range effort had sneaked in, it would have been a contender for goal of season. Wood superb and was so close on a couple of occasions to a famous hat trick!

Birmingham are the first side I have seen this season who look like contenders for relegation. In previous seasons they've had a strong start and dropped like a stone late on. So far this season, they won their first game and have been dreadful since. Their fans before the game were more depressed than Brummies normally are! Two more required and we're home and dry. However, the current feeling of vertigo when looking at the table is both exhilarating and terrifying!!

    A highly professional performance.

Nobody knows how to take to our style, it's surprising many. They can't work us out.

    Enjoy the journey

Just found my favourite comment from SHA

I was going to quote it earlier, but couldn't remember it exactly.

Should be the headline in 'tizer 😆

    "Pensioner centre half on a hat-trick "

There was a mention earlier about the key to the game being how Wood handled Deeney

Not the other way around as it turned out

    😆

Just for interest what do you think our “style” is ? and can it be so much different to anybody else’s ?
