@Gunboat what’s the explanation for Tams negative and sitting back tactics now? His team is getting pumped and playing the same way we did last year. Mulgrew on the phone to that team too?
Tam was away long before Butcher and are you a Honved fan?.He decided to join a tiny club in Hungary so its hardly surprising they are struggling is it?.I cannie really pass judgement on how Honved play because i support Dundee United and have never watched a Hungarian league game in my life.

I hope the JR debacle was an aberration and this squad starts over.

Whatever happened, and who is responsible is pure speculation. I might speculate that had a player been recruited to act as an example and mentor to young players and help deliver a 4th finish and European football,, for the first time in a decade, only to see a new manager bench the lot and play half fit strangers in their place, then bawl you out for pointing out that you had crushed the confidence of the young prospects…..maybe new manager lost the dressing room very early in his tenure. Maybe we need to draw a line under this chapter, and move on.

After Googling 'aberration' 😜, I agree with you. That's why I was so desperate to get rid of Ross. Any longer and we'd be in an almost insurmountable position that would've taken us back years. Thankfully we've acted early enough that this group of players can regroup, rebuild their confidence and get playing football again. This whole episode is surely an indicator for TA & MO that a manager of the ilk of Ross isn't the right fit for our club. He was clearly his own man who wanted to do things his way. What it says about our players doesn't bode particularly well, but I guess that's where we are with this squad.

Butcher situation was 100% Butcher. We can dissect how it may have been subsequently managed, but the bottom line is that if he’d kept it in his pants he would still currently be a Dundee United player. A tough tackling take no schit central defensive midfield Dundee United player at that.

Maybe if JR had stuck to what did work before and try and drip feed his changes, things might have worked out better.

I honestly have no idea who to blame (not that I want to) and the rumours/fake news are getting unbelievable.

But........ "If" we go back to a similar "Tam" formation under Fox , then it might shed (nae pun intended) some light on why we did so well , and why, mostly the same players have fell apart.

Freeman or Smith.... Graham. Edwards. Mulgrew....McMann... until further notice. If that doesn't work and settle things down again... then, there is a much bigger problem...

You'd like to think Fox knows why it worked under Tam and why it hasn't under Ross. Intrigued to see how we line up tomorrow now. McMann however is f*cking awful.

However, if the committee of Mulgrew and Watt are the leaders and told the boss they weren't happy with Butcher...... Hopefully, these two will be going the same way if they downed tools and started thinking they are better than they really are, causing unrest, professional that isn't.
