Looked like a penno on the day and even more so from the highlights… still, it would’ve been daylight robbery for them to get anything out of that game.

But for me that's a penalty all day long. Perhaps we deserved a bit of good fortune in this match.

    PS
If only we'd had that ref versus Grimsby....
He actually let quite a lot go for both sides, which I’m all for….unless I’m a Solihull fan watching him not give that peno!

That’s got to be the only reason he didn’t give it.

Can you imagine the outcry if the penalty was the other way round and not given? The ref would be a right barsteward.😊

Watching the highlights then reading this thread puzzles me - it really was the Ruben Show but little or no mention (Laddo did on the match thread). So many exquisite passes and outstanding pieces of play...
Watching that reminded me of videos like this. Ruben is our very own Joker, let's appreciate him more while we can.

He got enough grief when he dared to get hit by the ball and stopped play.

Maybe he's been so consistent at doing good things that people have started to take him for granted? Or maybe he's on his way to the Posh for mega bucks?

Joking aside you make a good point. Yes he scores goals, he gets assists the stats tell us that and we all know he's a very talented player but I do feel he does so much else, so much good, important stuff during games which I feel often goes unnoticed. It can be small things like using his strength to shield the ball and maintain possession, a drop of the shoulder or turn to get away from the opposition or spraying the ball outwide from a congested central area. The thing is he does this sort of good work in every game I've seen. Although I am admittedly biased, but it is hard not to be.

    The boys gooooood.
