We need 11 Johnny Hayes type players and then we might get somewhere.
Anthony Stewart is rapidly joining the long long list of contenders for the award of one of our worst ever signings.
Completely agree on Hayes (he is a duracell bunny) but have to disagree on Stewart. Just need to ask him to only do what he can do (which is be a defender, which was badly needed after last season's central defence), just don't ask him to pass the ball out of defence, as clearly he struggles to do that. Stewart and Scales together will only get better as central defenders the more they play together. I worry much more about Richardson's defensive capabilities than I do Stewart.

You see, you misunderstand. WE CRAVE, AND WE MUST HAVE, A SCAPEGOAT, and with Funso Ojo's departure, Stewart is a prime candidate for the award thus far, because he's not Beckenbauer, and he was signed from some lower league tossers in England rather than Barcelona. The smell of urine-impregnated cotton is strong on this one.

Let’s be honest…Stewart can only head the ball. His positional play is brutal, his passing is worse than dreadful. Scales bails him out on numerous occasions. Not convinced by Richardson either…he certainly isn’t a good defender and his balls into our other players are very questionable also. I think Stewart is getting it more because we expected better from him. He certainly isn’t quick either which doesn’t help.
