Thread: Private messages.

  1. #1

    Private messages.

    Hi guys,

Just a thought, if you want to conduct a private correspondence, please use the messages facility on notifications.

It can be a tad embarrassing cutting in on what are essentially private messages.

    Just saying.

    BT.

Not sure what you're getting at mon ami, anything posted on this forum, by it's very nature is not private.

Personally, I feel like a bit of a voyeur if I see a post reading "FAO Noddy" (or whoever) , I know it's ostensibly private and meant for one pair of eyes only, but I feel compelled to open it.

    It's horrid being a proper nosey b@stard.

No offence meant whatsoever. If I want to meet up with Sir Outwood for example, I private message him because in my own opinion, it's nobody else's business but hey ho each to their own.

Is this the sort of thing you're talking about mon ami ? Your post 2 on the FAO Malwayne thread ?

"Are you two guys coming to Burnley any time soon?

Glad your operation went well barrie. Congratulations."

Exactly mon ami. I felt like I was intruding but still wanted to wish barrie well.

Incidentally, I have met barrie previously through the private message facility.

Then why didn't you do that this time, one rule for us, another one for you ? Besides which, FAO threads are meant to capture someone's attention, anyone posting one knows it's not private, anyone can and will read it. Anyone who desires privacy can, and will, use PMs or emails. For instance me and Sub are meeting up this week for two cup games, it was first proposed and discussed on this forum, the details/arrangements have now been finalised in a series of emails, not on here. Why is this deemed worthy of comment/advice ?

Knickers in a twist. Storm in a teacup. It's a Sticky just ignore it. I did not post a "FAO barrie" thread, I responded to a request posted on this forum to see if anyone could get barrie a ticket for an EPL game.

I find EVERY poster on this forum to be sensible and responsible, we can have arguments, disputes, differences, but we all know just how far to go, we don't need moderating or nannying, and you mon ami especially, are fully aware of that. This thread imo is unnecessary, if it were me I'd delete it, but you're the boss, up to you.

I am in the process of deleting it but believe it or not I've lost the "special password". Will do it though.

I don't want to upset anyone, but the FAO type messages just don't seem OKAY to me. Just saying.
