Same as these people jumping on the bandwagon for Kevin Bridges because he said “she wont be the only old woman dying this winter”

Where what he really said was “Well lets be honest with the government we have she wont be the only old woman dying this winter”
which is true and more about the Govt and their handling of the cost of living and fuel crisis rather than the Queen

Please try and see the context before getting offended

Making a speech on someone’s passing doesn’t make him a good bloke, I’d rather look at his actions rather than his words

He showed absolute contempt for the Queen by his actions and the way he pissed so much money up the wall during COVID and also did not inspire or help or inspire anyone in the way the Queen did, I thought that everything she did during covid at her age was outstanding and her finest hour

I dont recall Boris doing anything that inspired me or made me feel he felt my pain, so one effing speech means **** all his actions speak far far louder than his words no matter how good they were, he’s a lying two faced scum who wants to surround him self with arse kissers who keep telling him how great he is and support him no matter what which is why he supported a bloke who went round feeling up young men in the Commons and made people like Nadine Dorries were made ministers, she is so thick and is better suited to some stupid reality crap rather than being a representative for people in this country, but made it far by arse kissing Johnson
Couldn’t have put this any better BS,

This is a guy who treated the country and the queen with contempt. Don’t forget he was found guilty in court to have lied to the queen when he prorogued parliament, he also reportedly said ‘let the bodies pile high’ during the pandemic.

But he writes a good speech, so we should forgive him for being a scumbag.

Hope you are well BS. As mentioned a few times - I don’t vote as they are all useless and for themselves. Starmer was guilty but got away with it! Sunak is the most disgusting excuse for a human being going - stabbing somebody in the back then being so smug with pre planned campaigns! Not to mention the wife who loves her country but refuses to pay inheritance tax and was one of the last to stop her financial dealings in Russia! Then there’s Truss who refuses to apply a windfall tax on these energy companies unlike some EU countries. Pathetic! You watch the huge bonuses to be forthcoming from these top people at the energy companies.

Not a fan of Boris but they are all hypocrites including one to two members of the Royal Family.

That said - I don’t get the absolute constant attacks on Johnston and then a person votes Lib Dems! They would really make a difference!!

I am no royalist either but it’s still sad that the Queen died for her service to the country. What Sinclair said was sick and he should be sacked! Remember the West Brom fan who was jailed for disgusting comments about Sawyers. Some would say when the Queen has just passed those comments from Sinclair are not only sick but could cause racial unrest.
It was fantastic seeing Charles outside Buckingham Palace with people of all colours and ethnicity wishing the Royal Family well and being supportive in their grief. I hope Sinclair was watching.

Why would you even vote Lib Dems in an area where there would be a Tory landslide - it would be a waste of time. There needs to be a newly formed party in my opinion.

Johnson was an a rse but he still did some good things like the U.K. support for Ukraine - far more than some dithering EU countries like France and Germany. Whilst I don’t like the guy there are positives as well as negatives. I still would not bet against Johnston coming back again and the majority will decide.

Brexit was a wing decision too as thick people bought into controlled immigration but the problem was never with the EU! It’s all those illegals which are still coming in - in record numbers now!

Top post BaggieSingh. Whilst BoJos, statement were great we shouldn’t be glorifying him after what he’s done.

At the same time, you’d think during this time in the UK we’d all come together. Yet we see media opportunists trying to still inflame arguments from whatever side anyone is on. Not read or seen what Trevor or that American professor said, both seem to have vile views and it’s not progressive. We should not be giving them the attention and plainly ignore them.. society, contracts etc will take care of them - they’ll get cancelled.

I’m looking forward to this new era with King Charles. I think Williams would have been too young and gives the bikers even more to brag on about. I hope he gets more vocal towards PMs that get away with murder. If he’s allowed to.

With all respect to Ukraine, you try telling those suffering that we’re going to give more support in foreign aid to Ukraine or some third world country with Mars aspirations - i’m sure those suffering here in the UK would rather they were helped. Their mentality is look after your own. I see so many people online commenting about this Al and they do have a point. We can only do so much and are for those EU countries.

Cant disagree with anything you have said Regis! Foreign Aid never gets distributed for the right reasons ie why the hell are we still giving millions to India for example with a corrupt Government and they are buying cheap Russian oil through the back door making a mockery of western sanctions. Makes no sense!

I get many saying we should look after our own - I really do with many not being able to eat or use energy due to the cost. For this reason, I can also understand those who are angry with even more volumes of illegal immigrants arriving and still no real solution! We need skilled labour ie more doctors, engineers etc so all for this. Illegals should be sent back or made to apply through the proper and legal channels.

If it had been me and still think this way - I would have sent NATO into Ukraine and not messed about. A bully needs tackling and defeating immediately. Third World War some say! Well with nutters in the World like Putin and Fatty in North Korea - if someone wants to push the button they will anyway! I don't think they would hence China's restraint as they for one would have too much to lose. Had Nato gone into Ukraine the Russians would either have retreated or been defeated without death and destruction. Putin will know the West are weak!

Another point to make - whilst Boris's speech was good - no person should be judged on their public speaking in terms of their ability to the job in hand. Truss is not confident at public speaking but Sunak was but who would trust that back stabbing snake? Blair was good at public speaking but backed an unjustified war in Iraq. I like someone who speaks from the heart ie Andy Burnham and not some little rich person who has no idea of how many live ( or can't live ) in today's society.

PS - some idiots are judging Truss now on her public speaking which is pathetic as she should be judged on her actions. Wrong move by her for not applying a windfall tax on these greedy energy companies!

The whole point is being missed here.

The thread was about Boris’s speech, the ability on here to go off on completely different tangents is mind boggling.

I was making the point that the speech really hit the spot and that even an arch political enemy like Harriet Harmon could stand there and give it full some and generous praise.

If she can bring herself to do it then it’s a pity others can’t and to bring up little old ladies dying of cold this winter is just ridiculous.

Harmon made a very good speech which I also pointed out but should I balance that with political points scoring?

    I think not.

I also think Starmer made a good speech and has done this twice where in my opinion he’s bettered Liz Truss’s lectern effort the morning after the death.

The post was supposed to be about the speeches and tributes but of course it had to be hijacked.

Interesting that Corbyn hasn’t made a speech ( to my knowledge)

Slaps self on hand for going off on tangent!

Surely you realise by now Mick, we love to twist up your thread and go off tangent lol. I just had a funny feeling you’d react the same when i saw this thread going differently.
