Has he no been mentioned previously but prefers to stay part time as he likes/values his job too much? Could be getting mixed up with somebody else.

Possibly the board also feel that with so many Billy Big Balls in the changing room that a manager with a strong profile will be needed. the trouble is they cost serious money.

I understand the sentiment but can you honestly believe this would ever happen with any player?

He clearly did in the home game against AZ then it all collapsed in the Netherlands. I don't go by the theory that Ross is a poor manager. He did an excellent job at Alloa and St Mirren, took Sunderland to a hairs breadth of promotion in his first season despite the board selling their star striker in January, then took Hibs to 3rd in Premiership.

It failing so quickly and dramatically into his tenure at United speaks of a wider issue at the club. Going through as any managers in such a short space of time doesn't make United an attractive proposition when it really should be hence the lack of genuine contenders.

The lack of potential candidates names coming forward is a slight worry. However I think this more to do with fact that they are hoping Liam fox will be the right fit. Not because he will be a cheap option but because he knows the players and wld already be up to speed. That’s said I’m not sure if he is the right man for the job. Time will tell.

If we're going down the route of inexperience, I'd rather have Kevin Thomson than Liam Fox if I'm being brutally honest. I really don't see a manager in the boy. If we're serious about appointing him, give him until the International break at the most
This is such a crucial decison. Get it wrong and we're relegated.

I don't think he's a poor manager either but it clearly didn't work for him here and, it appeared, he had no answers to the light speed decline.

We were amazing against AZ at home but I can't help wonder how much they were pushing to win that. Looking back, they were happy to keep possession for long spells without making inroads towards our goal. Our keeper didn't have a lot to do that night.

The occasion carried things that night to be fair

Not sure about Kevin Thompson and why he would be preferred over Fox, think Hibs at home would have been a good guage after the two away games, now its Ibrox instead which is more difficult to judge

Yes, and it's not going to be any old regular visit to Ibrox either...................

Because he's had success as a manager. Liam Fox almost put a Cowdenbeath out of the football league in his only managerial stint. If he hadn't resigned, it was goodbye.
