I'm picturing an episode of Keeping up Appearances now when Hyacinth Bucket (sorry, Bouquet) visits her sister Daisy and is disgusted at how she and Onslow live😀
Well, I guess we all live differently don't we. We have one daughter whose house is what I'd call very tidy but still comfortable whereas her brother's is clean but untidy with stuff everywhere. Whenever I'm round there I have to fight the OCD urge to start putting things away! (ex-warehouse manager you see😀. Personally, I could no more tolerate a prim and proper Hyacinth than a slobbish Onslow but, as Al says, it's about showing a bit of respect when in someone else's home.
As for our own dog, he knows the routine and lifts his front paws to have them checked/cleaned before he comes into the house from outside (though he does forget he has back ones too and isn't so keen on having his bum checked if he's had a poo in the garden either😀. As for the cats, it's a bit of a lost cause especially when they bring in little "presents" for us that they like to leave on the mat.
For the record our house could do with some extra work doing on it but it's kept clean. I just don't sh it the bed over the thought of shoes being worn in the house any more than I would were I lucky enough to find a seat on a train during rush hour.
That nor if someone sneezes in the pub as I've never been known to disinfect beer glasses in advance of drinking from them in public either.
Weirdly enough the first time I had Covid we all caught an apparently highly infectious virus at the same time. Strange that and I'm sure it never happened to any families who took their shoes off before entering their home.
Meanwhile when I caught it again my wife and son didn't despite still living in the same house. Hardly a sign of us being disgustingly filthy and incapable of the finer points of personal hygiene.
Nearly forgot. Meghan and Harry really need to clean their act up because I can smell their collective toxic sh it from across the internet. That's if the collective ones can of course 😊 .
I’m the same with shoes 68, I’d feel embarrassed asking people to remove them in my house.
There’s more bacteria in peoples socks and tights than there is on the bottom of most shoes anyway.
As for dogs, they lick their own a r s e and then you see owners letting them lick their faces FFS........they let them jump all over furniture and sit on them with their a r s e and private bits all over the rugs and furniture and themselves.
Funny how I can always tell a household that has a dog when I enter it but owners never notice the smell themselves s
I’d rather invite a f u c k I n g tramp around for a sit down meal with his shoes on than have a dog in the house!
So much for this thread sticking to its original topic. From Harry and Meghan to clean pair of shoes and socks.
