While I thought that the Queen was a huge asset to this country and served us so well for seventy years of undoubted devotion I do think that the coverage has been over the top. I can understand the coverage on the day that she passed away and the day after and obviously on the day of her funeral but programme after programme on all the terrestrial channels have been devoted to it for over a week now.

This post is in no way a criticism of her as a person or as a monarch as I have the most utter respect for what she has done for this country.

Here’s the latest news, The Queen is still dead!

She’ll be dead tomorrow, the day after, next week and forever more.

How often can you relentlessly ask the same questions about her “doing her duty” across multiple channels?

The first couple of days were understandable, Monday is understandable........a helicopter filming her hearse travelling is not required.

I don’t need to hear what ten year old Hugo from Chipping Camden gas to say on the subject or the silly old bint who queued since last Xmas to stare at a flag draped coffin.

I’m respectful of The Queen and the way she headed the nation but FFS......stick her wizened old body in the tomb and be done with it all.

Hopefully we can bury Charles in fairly short order and get shot of that sanctimonious, jug earned t w a t.

I think it is excessive and i’m a fan of the royal family, but as Boinger said 75 years reign it is sort of relative and we won’t see this in our lifetime. My guess is we’re trying to put in a show for the rest of the world to see.
What annoys me most is that the number of days of mourning, where our MPs have so much time off. Wtf? This is some outdated law surely. They had 2 months off to find a new PM, and more time off.. while our country is getting decimated. Pound at its lowest level etc. This ain’t solely a pop at Tories, but why dafuq is Boris and why Starmer there? One lied to the queen and tried to prorogue parliament, the other is so far a nobody.
