Looks like all of the top three have made solid starts to their games at lunch. Weather forecasts don't look too bad for the four days either.
To get promoted, we will need to score over 350 runs and bowl Durham out in their first innings to guarantee promotion as we need a maximum of 7 points. We will need to win the game in order to guarantee going up as champions, assuming that Middle*** win their game.
Getting closer 150-1
Congratulations to Matthew Montgomery on his first century for Notts. There is Raine and Drissell at Trent Bridge, but play continues.
My initial reaction on seeing that Notts are 276-2 at the end of play was to wonder if we'd just prepared an absolute road for this game given that a high scoring draw guarantees us promotion, which is all that really matters. Even if there are good batting conditions though, you've still got to go out there and play well to take advantage, especially as Durham have a decent bowling attack.
After a bit of a debacle at Worcester, I'm glad to see we seem to come out with the right attitude for this game. We've essentially won Day 1 of 4, just need to keep it up for another 3 days. Having Broad among our bowlers should help - good of him to be available given he could easily have been watching rather than playing!
